Friday Fun! Celery, Sex and Other Things ....

I have a weird and raunchy sense of humor. Tell me a dirty joke, I won’t only laugh, I’ll share it with the world!
The Harder series began with Monkeys, Sex and Other Birthday Surprises. It was supposed to be a stand-alone erotic short story, but then Missy’s family started telling me their stories! I figured I’d better listen to the voices in my head so they would shut up.
To get through most things in life, I believe you need a sense of humor. Thank goodness for mine! The second book in the series, Celery, Sex and Other Good Things for the Heart is another comedy about two people taking a chance and trying to get it right. In real life, mistakes happen. People have misunderstandings. Love and sex don’t always go according to plan. This is what I want my characters to do to. Go after what you want, be willing to laugh at yourself, love fiercely, be naughty and have fun! Beware – this book is an erotic experience that will be sure to make you laugh out loud!
Blurb:
On the eve of her sister’s birthday party, Miranda knows her sister will be getting some action from her dream man. After all, Miranda did orchestrate them meeting in person. Jealous, Miranda thinks it’s high time she get some herself, and who better to satisfy her needs than her hot friend, Dan? But she doesn’t like it vanilla, and worries that Dan may be all talk and no action.
Thrilled doesn’t begin to describe Dan’s feelings when he and Miranda finally agree to act on their attraction. He knows she struggles to maintain control of situations, largely due to her unpredictable family who create havoc in her life. He is willing to let her take control in the bedroom, but knows he has to make her see that surrendering to him is what she really needs.
Throw in her interfering family, a surprise visit from her brother and his pet primate, Miranda’s wish to make an ordinary vegetable sexy, and it makes for an evening neither one will soon forget. These lovers discover that love is even better for your heart than celery.
Excerpt:
She shrugged and opened the refrigerator, rummaging around inside. “We’re a weird bunch in my family.”
“No shit. Okay, let me get this straight—you’re willing to blow me to A. make your sister jealous, or B. brag to her?”
Glancing at him over the top of the fridge door, her expression one like he’d sprouted two heads. “Blowing you? Presumptuous.” Ducking down again, she opened a drawer. “Damn—I need to get groceries. All I have is celery.” She straightened, waving a stalk of celery, the leaves bobbing from side to side.
“Rabbit food?” he questioned.
“Celery is good for the heart, the digestion, and it helps you feel full so you don’t want to snack.” She closed the fridge and placed one hand on her hip.
Now he looked at her as if she’d grown another head. “Say what?”
She rolled her eyes, and said, “I’ve been trying to lose weight, remember? I’ve added more veggies to my diet.”
He grabbed the piece of celery from her hand, and tapped her nose with the leaves. “You don’t need to diet. You’re perfect just the way you are.” His gaze roved her curvaceous form, his loins tightening in response. Brushing the celery leaves against her cheek, he stared back into her eyes. “Every sexy inch of you.”
She snatched the vegetable out of his hand. “Celery isn’t sexy.” A mischievous light sparkled in her eyes. “Or is it?”

Hi, Jennifer. Thanks for letting me visit today.

My love of gymnastics brought me many things in my life. It taught me that hard work, determination and perseverance pay off. Not only did it physically show me what I'm capable of, but what I can emotionally handle, to some degree, as well. When I started taking this writing gig seriously, and by that I mean to be published, I had the idea to write a series of novels based on my love for the sport as well my love of romance. Well, my hard work and dedication paid off because books 1 & 2 in the Love and Balance series are now available from Secret Cravings Publishing. Book 2, The Perfect Score was just released last week! Here's a blurb and excerpt:

Blurb:
The new head coach has barely gotten her beams in alignment when she’s threatened with a lawsuit by a father for refusing to train his brat of a daughter.
Shelley Longstaff finally has her chance to be in charge only to rue the day when she is asked to train the dreaded Anna Fortier, a gymnast who has no sense of sportsmanship and makes everyone in her vicinity miserable. When Shelley refuses, she’s threatened with a lawsuit by her father. To make things worse, Shelley has an inexplicable attraction to the arrogant rich lawyer!

Since his wife’s death five years ago, Jacques (Jack) Fortier does whatever it takes to protect what is his. Shelley’s club is his last resort to keep his daughter in the sport, but threatening to sue her isn’t exactly his smartest move. When she grudgingly agrees to give Anna a chance, he finds himself attracted to the spritely gymnastics coach – the first woman he’s had any feelings for since his wife passed away.

As Shelley and Jack leap over the line in their parent-coach relationship, Shelley worries over falling in love with a man who admittedly still loves his late wife. But when a crisis of teenage proportions threatens their relationship, will they risk everything for the chance to achieve The Perfect Score?

Excerpt:
“Because no one can get her to realize her full potential.” Even he heard the weariness in his voice. “She has a lot of talent, but no one can get her to train properly. And you’re right—she does act like a brat. Everyone lets her get away with her behavior.”
“Have you ever considered it might have something to do with you?”
His jaw dropped open. Never had someone been so candid with him.
By the look on her face, he could tell she’d even surprised herself. But even more astonishing to him was she didn’t back down or try to take back what she’d said, but forged ahead instead.
“Mr. Fortier, you barge in and demand people do your bidding. Do you treat her in the same manner? Have you ever thought she doesn’t want whatever dreams you’re shoving down her throat?”
He admired her courage, but her last statement made his jaw snap closed. Anger surged to the surface. “I’m not living vicariously through her, if that’s what you mean!” he roared. “How dare you assume I treat my daughter unfairly!”
“My apologies.” She folded her hands one on top of the other in a calm manner. “From what I’ve seen of her competition behavior in recent months, it appears to me you might want this more than she does.”
“Absurd.” Who is this woman? No one ever gave him this kind of reception. Whenever he’d found a new club for Anna, she’d been welcomed on the spot. People never questioned him. Ever. He glared at her. She’d just made another statement that hit home like a punch to the gut, expressing a sentiment he’d often wondered about. Why didn’t his daughter want to be the best anymore?
He tamped down the anger, trying to calm himself with a breath again, but he caught a whiff of her scent once more, and it sent blood racing through his veins. He took in her light brown hair pulled back into a ponytail with the exception of a few strands framing her heart-shaped face. She wasn’t just cute. She was pretty. Beautiful. His insides felt gushy. Ridiculous. Maybe it had been a mistake to come here after all.
“Mr. Fortier, have you ever heard the expression ‘You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink?’”
He gave her a withering look.
Holding her hands up in front of her, she said, “All I’m saying is I can’t work miracles. What makes you think I can get through to her when other coaches have failed?”
“Your club is the last one,” he said simply.

These books are full of emotion and steamy love scenes. They aren't as erotic as some of my other work, but I'm sure readers will enjoy them!

Friday Fun: Meet Author Kellie Kamryn!

Please help me welcome my dear friend and fellow Wild Rose Press author, KELLIE KAMRYN. Kellie is on fire this year with 3 (!!!) releases.
You can find out all about Kellie and her wonderful writing and poetry at her site http://www.kelliekamryn.blogspot.com/?zx=3dafb7eb55eb6fa3

Then come on back and chat with us! :)

Hi Kellie! Thanks so much for being here today.

1- Was your road to publication a delightful stroll in the park or a tiring jog over hot coals?
Well, it wasn't a delightful stroll but it was far from a walk on hot coals! Sure it's had it's trying times, but over the past couple of years, I've gained so much support from other writers it has been great. When I get down about something, there is always someone there to give me a lift.
2- Where is your favorite place to write? At a secluded place. Since I don't have that- at my computer in my living room.
3- Do you have critique partners? Yes, I do and I should be kissing the ground she walks on ;) Jennifer is the greatest.(Aw, thanks!) I also have a few other of my fellow Ass Cheek Angels that have taken the time to read my work and they've all brought something valuable to me.
4- Tell us about your real life romance. There isn't much to tell - yet. *wink* But let's say that after separating from my husband, I'm enjoying life again and getting used to doing a lot of things on my own. I'm very happy right now.

5-  If you were going to cast the hero of your book, what actor would get the part?
Depends which book! In Rebound, book 1 in the Love and Balance series which comes out in the New Year, it would be Tom Welling of Smallville fame. In Book 3 it would be Jenson Ackles. An out of shape Chris Hemsworth could pass as Sam from Monkeys, Sex and Other Birthday Surprises.
6- Do you believe in love at first sight? Lust at first sight - yes! LOL Love is something you can't help and you feel it when you feel it. You could feel it right away for someone, or it might take some time and then suddenly you see someone in a different light. Love is an amazing thing and definitely has the power to heal. And it does sneak up on you when you least expect it ;)
7- What is your favorite dessert/food? Lindt Chocolate Peanut Butter balls

BLURBS:

unfulfilled?

Going for Gold -   It was an office Christmas party filled with sexual tension. Gymnastics coach Grant Howard couldn’t keep his eyes off the newly-hired cheerleader coach. And sultry Teena Adams felt the same way, the “rah-rah-rahs” she felt were cheers of unbridled lust.
